FRMET – A PERFECT DAY FOR TAITO KATO IN DUBAI!
In qualifying, Taito Kato proved to be the fastest, securing pole position for Race 1, a major advantage heading into the race. Alex Powell claimed pole for Race 3. Also worth noting was the impressive performance of Emanuele Olivieri, a pleasant surprise on his first weekend in the category.
At the start of Race 1, Kato got off to a perfect launch and retained the lead, immediately setting a strong pace. Behind him, the fight for the podium was intense, with a huge battle between Kean Nakamura-Berta and Rashid Al Dhaheri, the main title favourite, for third place. Meanwhile, the pack remained extremely close, producing numerous wheel-to-wheel battles.
The race was marked by several incidents, including Wheldon being spun around. Further down the order, the Race 3 pole-sitter was involved in a fight with Macedo for P12.
After a race fully controlled from start to finish, Taito Kato claimed victory, sealing a commanding win ahead of Alexander Abkhazava, with Kean Nakamura-Berta completing the podium after an intense early battle.
