MARC MARQUEZ WINS AGAIN AT SACHSENRING TO BOOST TITLE HOPES

Marc Marquez continued his incredible record at the Sachsenring by taking his tenth MotoGP victory at the German circuit and the 102nd Grand Prix win of his career. The Ducati Lenovo Team rider completed a perfect weekend after winning the Sprint and the Grand Prix, scoring the maximum 37 points. After trailing by more than 100 points following the Italian Grand Prix, Marquez has now climbed to third in the championship and is back in the title fight.

Starting from pole position, Marquez made a strong launch and held the lead into the first corner. His brother Alex Marquez stayed in second, while Trackhouse Racing riders Ai Ogura and Raul Fernandez followed in third and fourth. Fabio Di Giannantonio dropped to fifth during the opening lap.

Further behind, championship leader Jorge Martin, Pedro Acosta, and Francesco Bagnaia all moved ahead of Fabio Quartararo during the opening laps as the race quickly settled into its early rhythm.

The first major drama came when Fabio Di Giannantonio crashed at Turn 10 after losing the front of his Ducati while chasing Ogura. The crash ended his race and cost him valuable championship points. Pedro Acosta moved into fifth after the retirement and soon passed Martin for fourth place with a strong move at Turn 1.

A few laps later, Alex Marquez also crashed after losing the front of his Ducati at Turn 13 while comfortably running second. His retirement allowed Marc Marquez to build a gap of more than one second over Raul Fernandez, while Ogura defended third place from the charging Acosta.

As the race entered its final stages, Marc Marquez remained in complete control. His advantage grew beyond two seconds while the battle behind him became the main focus. Ogura eventually passed his teammate Fernandez for second place and pulled away, securing another impressive podium finish after his recent victory at Assen.

Marquez crossed the finish line to claim another dominant Sachsenring victory, matching Giacomo Agostini’s record of ten MotoGP wins at a single circuit. The result moved him up to third in the championship, continuing an impressive comeback after being more than 100 points behind only a few races ago.

Ogura finished second to complete another outstanding weekend for Trackhouse Racing and strengthened his position in the championship. Fernandez completed the podium, giving the American team its second consecutive double podium finish.

Pedro Acosta marked his return from carpal tunnel surgery with a strong fourth-place finish. Jorge Martin held off Francesco Bagnaia in a close battle for fifth, crossing the line just 0.123 seconds ahead of the Ducati rider to extend his championship lead heading into the summer break.

Fabio Quartararo finished seventh for Yamaha, followed by Luca Marini, Enea Bastianini, and Brad Binder, who completed the top ten.

The final points went to rookie Diogo Moreira, Jack Miller, Franco Morbidelli, Alex Rins, and Toprak Razgatlioglu. Fabio Di Giannantonio, Alex Marquez, Cal Crutchlow, Maverick Viñales, and Joan Mir were among the riders who failed to finish the race.

MotoGP now enters its summer break before returning at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix. Jorge Martin leads the championship by 14 points over Ai Ogura, while Marc Marquez heads into the second half of the season with growing momentum in the battle for the world title.
