MCLAREN TO BE THE ONLY TEAM TO RUN 2 CARS IN F1 ACADEMY IN 2026
Mclaren has announced that it will run two cars in the 2026 F1 Academy season, being the only team to do so.
Before going into who are the drivers, Mika Hakkinen’s daughter has been added to Mclaren’s Driver development program, and aims to secure a seat in F1 Academy in 2027 with the British Team.
Ella Hakkinen is 14 years old on route to become 15 in two weeks and eligible to compete in single-seaters. She currently competes in WSK Cup in karting.
Two drivers confirmed for Mclaren in the 2026 F1 Academy season
The Welsh driver Ella Lloyd, 20, is returning for a second year in F1 Academy with Mclaren and Rodin. She currently sits third in the 2025 standings with 101 points, two ahead of Chloe Chambers.
Reconfirmed for next year, Lloyd will surely be one of the favourite contenders for the title.
Ella Stevens will be the second driver to be representing both Mclaren and Rodin. Ella, 17, is a KZ2 British champion in Karting, and will make her step-up to single seaters in 2026, she comes from the United Kingdom as well.
