FORMULA-E: MORTARA TAKES POLE AFTER BEATING WEHRLEIN IN FINAL DUEL

Edoardo Mortara has set the fastest lap in the Final beating Pascal Wehrlein, taking pole position for the first Berlin E-Prix of the weekend.

Qualifying for the Berlin E-Prix began with Group A going out on track under green flag conditions. Early on, lap times started to come in, with Pascal Wehrlein setting the pace ahead of Felipe Drugovich.

There were a few surprises, as Sébastien Buemi, who had looked strong in practice, struggled and ended up near the bottom. Nick Cassidy managed to climb into the top positions late in the session, while Oliver Rowland did enough to knock out Taylor Barnard.

In the end, Wehrlein, Drugovich, Rowland, and Cassidy moved on to the duels, while several big names were eliminated.

Group B followed with more drama. Drivers waited until the final minutes to push for fast laps after warming up their tires. Lucas di Grassi hit the wall and broke his suspension, which ended his session early. Dan Ticktum set the fastest lap, just ahead of Edoardo Mortara.

Some strong drivers, including António Félix da Costa and Jake Dennis, were unable to improve and were knocked out. Ticktum, Mortara, Zane Maloney, and Nico Müller advanced to the duels.

In the quarterfinals, the battles became more intense. Drugovich beat Rowland to move forward, while Wehrlein overcame Cassidy. Mortara defeated Maloney, and Ticktum got past Müller. These results set up two semifinal fights: Rowland against Wehrlein, and Mortara against Ticktum.

The semifinals delivered close contests. Wehrlein showed strong pace and beat Rowland to reach the final. On the other side, Mortara continued his impressive form by defeating Ticktum. This set up a final duel between Wehrlein, the home favorite, and Mortara.

In the final, Mortara delivered a great lap and defeated Wehrlein. With this result, Edoardo Mortara secured pole position for the first race of the Berlin E-Prix, beating the home hero in an exciting finish.
