TICKTUM TAKES BACK-TO-BACK MONACO POLE POSITIONS

Qualifying for Round 10 of the 2026 Monaco E-Prix started with Group A. Dan Ticktum was the fastest driver in the group as he tried to repeat his pole position from the day before. The CUPRA KIRO driver looked confident again around the tight Monaco Street Circuit.

Edoardo Mortara also had a strong session for Mahindra Racing and finished just a tenth behind Ticktum. Mitch Evans and Felipe Drugovich also made it through to the Duels, giving both drivers another strong qualifying result in Monaco.

There were some surprises in Group A. Race winner Nyck de Vries could only finish seventh and missed out on the Duels. Nico Müller, who had topped FP3 earlier in the day, also failed to progress after finishing sixth.

Group B was led by Taylor Barnard for DS PENSKE. He set a time of 1m28.545s and secured his place in the next stage. He was joined by Oliver Rowland, Jean-Éric Vergne and António Félix da Costa.

Maximilian Günther looked fast enough to reach the Duels, but his lap was deleted for a track limits violation. That left him sixth in the group. Pascal Wehrlein also had a difficult session and could only finish seventh, while Nick Cassidy’s tough Monaco weekend continued as he ended ninth.

The Quarter Finals began with Mitch Evans against Edoardo Mortara. Evans pushed hard and used everything he had, but Mortara produced the better lap and moved into the Semi Finals.

Next came Felipe Drugovich against Dan Ticktum. Drugovich came very close to the barriers during his lap, especially near Antony Noghès, but Ticktum was faster and moved through.

Jean-Éric Vergne then faced Oliver Rowland. Rowland had started on the front row for both Monaco races last season, but this time Vergne had the stronger lap and reached the next stage.

The final Quarter Final was extremely close. António Félix da Costa went up against Taylor Barnard, and the two drivers were separated by only 0.001s at the line. Da Costa was just ahead and moved into the Semi Finals.

In the first Semi Final, Mortara faced Ticktum. Mortara had done well to recover after missing qualifying the day before because of a car issue, but Ticktum was on another level. He drove a clean and fast lap to reach the Final.

The second Semi Final was between da Costa and Vergne. The two former teammates fought for the final place in the pole shootout, and da Costa came out on top. That set up a tense Final against Ticktum, especially after their controversial crash in the previous race.

The Final was Dan Ticktum against António Félix da Costa. The battle had extra pressure because the two drivers had not spoken since their incident on Saturday. But on track, Ticktum delivered one of his best performances.

Ticktum set a 1m26.222s and beat da Costa by 0.676s. It was the biggest pole margin of the 2025/26 Formula E season so far and gave him a second straight Julius Baer Pole Position in Monaco.

Ticktum and da Costa will start together on the front row later today. Mortara will start third for Mahindra Racing, with Jean-Éric Vergne fourth for Citroën Racing. But the star of qualifying was clearly Ticktum, who once again showed his love and speed around Monaco.
