FIA TO REVIEW ADUO FIGURES AFTER RED BULL’S REQUEST

The FIA has confirmed it will review the ADUO values following a formal request for clarification from Red Bull, reopening discussions around how performance balance is calculated under the current proposal.

According to the issue raised, the federation is currently focusing only on the internal combustion engine when assessing power unit performance. This approach would, in theory, place Red Bull at the top of the rankings in terms of raw engine performance. At the same time, Mercedes would benefit from additional assistance provided by the system, which could influence the overall balance between manufacturers.

Red Bull argued that this method does not properly reflect the combined performance of modern Formula 1 power units, which rely heavily on hybrid systems rather than the combustion engine alone. As a result, the team requested a clarification and revision of the ADUO values to ensure a more accurate and fair comparison across all manufacturers.

The FIA has accepted the request and will now reassess the proposal that had previously been presented. The governing body is expected to review how different components of the power units are weighted in order to avoid an imbalance that could distort competition between teams.

The decision does not immediately change any current regulations, but it opens the door for potential adjustments to how performance parity is calculated in future seasons. Teams and manufacturers will now await further clarification from the FIA before any final conclusions are made.
