ESCOTTO STEPS IN FOR INJURED BENAVIDES IN BARCELONA F3 ROUND

Ricardo Escotto will step in for Brad Benavides in Formula 3 this weekend in Barcelona, after the AIX driver was ruled out due to injury sustained in Monaco.

Benavides suffered fractures to three vertebrae following his accident at the Hairpin during the Sprint Race in Monaco. As a result, he will miss the Spanish round as he continues his recovery.

To replace him, AIX has called up Mexican driver Ricardo Escotto, who is currently competing in his second season of Indy NXT. Escotto’s strongest result in the series so far is a seventh-place finish at Alabama earlier this year.

Benavides’ absence is a significant setback for AIX, but the priority remains his recovery after a serious incident in Monaco. No timeline has yet been confirmed for his return to racing.
