ISOTTA FRASCHINI HYPERCAR PROJECT SET FOR REVIVAL UNDER HIGH CLASS RACING
High Class Racing has announced plans to reactivate development of the Isotta Fraschini Tipo 6 LMH, marking a potential return for the Italian Hypercar project that competed in the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2024.
The Danish team intends to continue work on the car with the aim of bringing it back to competitive racing in the future. The project is focused on entering the private Hypercar category of the Asian Le Mans Series, which is expected to launch in 2027.
The Isotta Fraschini Type 6 LMH previously appeared in WEC competition as part of the Hypercar class, representing one of the smaller manufacturers attempting to establish itself among more established factory-backed programs. Although its initial campaign faced challenges, the car remains part of an ongoing development effort rather than a concluded project.
High Class Racing’s involvement is aimed at reviving and improving the platform, with the intention of adapting it for endurance competition in a more privateer-oriented environment. The Asian Le Mans Series is seen as a suitable target due to its structure and growing Hypercar participation.
If successful, the project would bring the Isotta Fraschini name back into top-level endurance racing, continuing Italy’s historic presence in prototype motorsport through a modern Hypercar entry.
Further technical details and timelines are expected to be confirmed closer to the planned entry into competition.
