MACCAGNANI SET FOR F3 DEBUT WITH RODIN THIS WEEKEND
Ferrari junior Niccolò Maccagnani is set to make his Formula 3 debut this weekend at the Madring, according to ItaliaRacing. The Italian, born in 2010, would replace Christian Ho at Rodin Motorsport for the season finale in Madrid.
It is a huge jump. Maccagnani made his single-seater debut only in September 2025 and is still in his first proper season of F4, racing for Prema in the Italian and Euro 4 championships. He has never completed a full campaign in single-seaters.
Maccagnani joined the Ferrari Driver Academy on 1 January 2026. Before his move to Prema, he had already shown strong pace in his first races, including a triple podium and three wins in the F4 South Asian Championship finale. He also finished second in the 2025 Formula Trophy Championship.
His F3 debut would come just days after the Madring hosted its final testing session ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix. The new Madrid circuit is making its F1 debut this weekend, with 22 corners around the IFEMA exhibition centre. It will be a completely new challenge for the young Italian.
Maccagnani has already spoken about his ambitions for the future. In an interview with ACI Sport, he said that his goal is to reach Formula 1, while also making clear that he wants to focus on improving step by step.
For Rodin, the decision would give the team a chance to evaluate another young driver at the highest level of junior single-seaters. For Maccagnani, it could be the start of a very different path. A strong weekend in Madrid would be a major statement from a driver who has only just begun his single-seater career.
