F1 ACADEMY RETURNS TO ACTION WITH THREE RACES IN THE WEEKEND

After several weeks of break following the round held in China, F1 Academy makes its big return this weekend in Montreal for the second round of the season. A special event marked by a new format.

Felbermayr arrives as championship leader

Thanks to her victory in China, Emma Felbermayr heads into this weekend leading the championship. The Austrian driver made the most of the opening round to take control and establish herself as one of the title contenders.

Behind her, the gaps remain tight, particularly with one of the main favorites this season, Alisha Palmowski.

To make up for the cancellation of the Saudi Arabian round, F1 Academy will adopt a special format this weekend with three races on the schedule. A format that will also be used later in the season in Austin.

This format will offer more opportunities for drivers to score points, while also increasing track time and experience for the rookies. Managing the weekend will therefore be crucial for the title contenders.

During the break between China and Canada, the drivers were able to stay active, notably during testing sessions held at Silverstone. These tests allowed teams and drivers to maintain momentum and prepare for the Canadian round.

Some drivers also gained experience in other championships. Jade Jacquet and Lisa Billard competed in French F4 to get additional track time ahead of the F1 Academy return.

A home Wild Card entry

The Canadian weekend will also feature Autumn Fisher, entered as a Wild Card. The driver, who is competing this season in French F4, will have the opportunity to measure herself against the F1 Academy field in front of her home crowd.
