FORMULA 1 RETURNS WITH EXCITING MIAMI GRAND PRIX

After five weeks without racing, Formula 1 is finally back. The championship returns with the Miami Grand Prix in Florida, bringing excitement back to fans around the world. The long break happened because the races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia were cancelled.

The cars we will see are expected to be quite different from the ones that raced in Japan at Suzuka. Many teams have used the time to fix problems and bring new ideas. This makes the weekend even more interesting, because no one knows exactly how competitive each team will be.

Mercedes comes into the race as the favorite after winning the first three races of the season. Young driver Andrea Kimi Antonelli has been very strong, winning the last two races before the break. However, his teammate George Russell is also very talented and will want to fight back. Behind Mercedes, the battle is expected to be close.

Ferrari fans hope their team can get closer to the front and challenge for wins. McLaren is also bringing a heavily updated car, and Red Bull, with Max Verstappen, hopes to recover and fight for better results.

The midfield battle is also important. Alpine has looked like the fifth-best team so far, but things could change after the break. With so many updates, the order in the middle of the grid is still uncertain.

The Miami weekend will use the Sprint format. This means there will be only one practice session before Sprint Qualifying on Friday. Saturday will have the Sprint Race and the main qualifying session, while the full race will take place on Sunday. Teams will have limited time to prepare, which could create surprises.

The Miami circuit is a street track built around the Hard Rock Stadium. It is 5.412 kilometers long, and the race will last 57 laps, for a total distance of just over 308 kilometers. The track was first used in Formula 1 in 2022. The lap record belongs to Max Verstappen, set in 2023.

What does Pirelli bring to Miami

Pirelli has chosen the three softest tire compounds for this race: C3, C4, and C5. The track usually has low tire wear, which allows drivers to do long stints and possibly only one pit stop. Another important feature is that the track dries quickly after rain, which could play a role if the weather changes.

Street circuits like Miami also increase the chance of Safety Car periods. Drivers must be very precise, because mistakes can easily lead to hitting the walls.
