GABRIELE MINI WINS HIS FIRST FORMULA 2 RACE EVER

The Formula 2 feature race in Miami delivered on all its promises following yesterday afternoon’s thrilling sprint race, won by Gabriele Mini. Between challenging weather conditions, repeated interruptions, and an intense battle for victory, the spectacle lasted until the very final lap. After a dramatic finish, Gabriele Minì secured an outstanding win.

Difficult conditions in Miami

Rain disrupted the day’s schedule, with both the F1 and F2 races brought forward due to heavy showers and thunderstorms forecast in Miami. Following intense rainfall earlier in the morning, the start of the race was delayed by a few minutes, with drivers completing several formation laps behind the Safety Car to assess track grip.

Even before the race began, there was already one retirement to report, as Roman Bilinski was unable to take the start due to a technical issue while heading to the grid.

After three laps behind the Safety Car, the race finally got underway… but it would quickly descend into chaos.

The opening corner immediately claimed victims. After contact with Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, Nikola Tsolov was forced to retire, while the ART driver received a 10-second penalty. The Safety Car was deployed again at the end of the first lap.

The restart did little to settle things down, as Ollie Goethe hit the wall on the straight shortly after racing resumed. Despite the rain easing off, conditions remained extremely tricky for all drivers.

Kush Maini, showing great control, managed to take the lead and gradually pulled away from his rivals, particularly the Invicta drivers Rafael Câmara and Joshua Dürksen.

The race took another turn on lap 10 with Alex Dunne’s retirement, triggering yet another Safety Car. The majority of drivers dived into the pits, completely reshuffling the order at the front.

Mistakes became more frequent as the track began to dry, leading to multiple interruptions. The hierarchy continued to evolve rapidly as the race approached its final third.

In this context, several drivers found themselves fighting for victory, setting up an unpredictable and thrilling end to the race.

The final laps were simply exceptional. Rafael Câmara, Dino Beganovic, Noel León, and Gabriele Minì engaged in an intense fight for the lead, exchanging positions and launching attack after attack.

The pressure was immense on these young drivers, with every mistake potentially costing victory. Overtakes came one after another, with three drivers going wheel-to-wheel for the lead.

In the end, it was Gabriele Minì who made the decisive move, overtaking Dino Beganovic at the start of the final lap. The Italian kept his composure to hold on to the lead all the way to the checkered flag.

Gabriele Minì rewarded, Miami conquered

Gabriele Minì claimed victory at the end of a completely wild race, ahead of Dino Beganovic and Rafael Câmara, both of whom delivered an outstanding finish.

In such conditions, the Italian driver remained composed and opportunistic to secure a remarkable win.

This race in Miami will undoubtedly go down as one of the most memorable in recent years. Between the rain, repeated incidents, and the fierce battle for victory, everything came together to create an exceptional spectacle.

Formula 2 in Miami has been a complete success, with two exciting races this weekend. Hopefully, we’ll see more of the same in a few weeks’ time in Canada, where the drivers will once again discover a new circuit.
