HADJAR TO MISS MADRID AS WRIST INJURY KEEPS HIM OUT
Red Bull has confirmed that Isack Hadjar will miss this weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix in Madrid as he continues to recover from a fractured wrist. The French driver will be absent for a third consecutive race, after missing the Dutch and Italian Grands Prix.
Hadjar suffered the injury during training ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix. Although his recovery is progressing well, he is not yet fit to return to the car. Red Bull has decided not to rush him back, with team principal Laurent Mekies saying the priority is to give him all the time he needs to recover fully.
Liam Lawson will continue as Max Verstappen’s team-mate at Red Bull, while Yuki Tsunoda will once again drive for Racing Bulls alongside rookie Arvid Lindblad. This will be Lawson’s third consecutive race with the main Red Bull team and Tsunoda’s third consecutive weekend as his replacement at Racing Bulls.
Lawson has already shown good pace since stepping into the Red Bull seat. He finished seventh at Zandvoort, but his Monza weekend was more difficult, as he started from the pit lane and finished 14th. Tsunoda, meanwhile, scored a point at Monza with a 10th-place finish.
Hadjar will still be present in Madrid to support the team, but his return to racing will have to wait. The 2026 season is now entering its final European round, with the new Madring circuit set to host its first Formula 1 race.
For Lawson, this is another chance to prove himself in the Red Bull car. For Hadjar, the goal is simple: recover fully and return to the grid when he is ready.
