LUCA DI MONTEZEMOLO SLAMS FERRARI’S NEW LUCE EV

Former Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo has strongly criticised the new Ferrari Luce, the brand’s first fully electric car and its first five-seat model.

The Luce is a major change for Ferrari. It is a four-door, five-seat electric car priced at around €550,000, and its design has already created a strong reaction from fans, critics and investors. Ferrari shares also fell after the reveal, as some questioned whether the car truly fits the brand’s identity.

Montezemolo, who led Ferrari during one of its most successful modern eras, did not hide his disappointment. He said the company risks damaging a legend and added that he hopes Ferrari removes the Prancing Horse badge from the car.

He also aimed a sharp comment at the car’s design, saying that it is the kind of car Chinese manufacturers will not need to copy.

His words show how sensitive this moment is for Ferrari. The company is trying to move into the electric era while still protecting the emotion, sound, design and exclusivity that made the brand famous.
