RAUL FERNANDEZ EXTENDS TRACKHOUSE DEAL UNTIL 2028
Trackhouse has officially announced a contract extension for Raul Fernandez, who will remain with the American team for the 2027 and 2028 MotoGP seasons. The Spaniard becomes the first rider confirmed by the team for the next two years and will continue as one of the main parts of its project with Aprilia.
Fernandez has been part of the Trackhouse project since the team’s MotoGP debut in 2024. During his time with the American squad, he has played an important role in its development and has helped the team achieve some of its first major results in the championship.
His first podiums with Trackhouse came in the 2025 Sprint Races at Mandalika and Phillip Island. He then went one step further in Australia, taking his first MotoGP Grand Prix victory and giving Trackhouse its first-ever win in the category.
The 2026 season has continued to strengthen Fernandez’s position within the team. He has already scored three podiums in the main races and three more in Sprint Races, as well as victories in Italy and the Netherlands. This came after he ended the 2025 season with a second-place finish at the Valencia Grand Prix.
The new contract will also see Fernandez enter the next MotoGP era with Trackhouse and Aprilia. Major technical changes will arrive in 2027, including the switch to 850cc engines and new aerodynamic regulations, making continuity between riders and teams particularly important.
Trackhouse owner Justin Marks said Fernandez has grown both as a rider and in his approach to working with the team. Marks highlighted his commitment to the project, as well as his development in preparation, teamwork and maturity.
Trackhouse now needs to decide who will take the second seat for 2027. Ai Ogura will leave the team after Yamaha confirmed him for its factory MotoGP team for the next two seasons.
One of the names linked with the Trackhouse seat is Enea Bastianini, who is currently riding for KTM Tech3 and is expected to leave the team. The MotoGP rider market still needs to determine who will join Fernandez, but the first piece of the Trackhouse line-up is now confirmed until the end of 2028.
