TURKISH GRAND PRIX RETURNS TO THE FORMULA 1 CALENDAR UNTIL 2031
The world of Formula 1 is set for an important return, as the Turkish Grand Prix is expected to come back to the calendar in the coming years.
News from Turkish media says that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will take part in an official announcement later today at the historic Dolmabahçe Palace.
For many fans, this is exciting news, as Turkey has produced some memorable races in the past, especially at the famous Intercity Istanbul Park circuit, known for its challenging layout and the iconic Turn 8.
According to the reports, the Turkish Grand Prix will remain on the Formula 1 calendar until at least 2031, thanks to a new five-year agreement.
The changes to the calendar do not stop there, as the 2027 season is also expected to keep a total of 24 races. However, there will be some adjustments in which tracks are included.
The Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort is set to leave the calendar, while the Portuguese Grand Prix at Algarve International Circuit is returning.
Another notable change involves the Spanish Grand Prix at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which will move into a rotation system with the Belgian Grand Prix at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. Because of this rotation, Barcelona will not appear on the 2027 calendar.
