FORMULA 2: DUNNE LEADS THE WAY IN PRACTICE
The Formula 2 free practice session in Montreal was marked by several incidents for drivers discovering the circuit, with Alex Dunne setting the fastest time.
Rodin secures a one-two in the session
Alex Dunne quickly moved to the top of the timesheets with a strong lap he will need to replicate in qualifying, confirming his status as a title contender. He finished ahead of his teammate Martinius Stenshorne, putting Rodin as the team to beat at the start of the weekend.
Behind them, Nikola Tsolov completed the top three after a solid session for the championship leader.
As is often the case at the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit, mistakes were frequent. Several drivers were caught out in the final corner, making contact with the famous Wall of Champions. Although these incidents did not cause major interruptions, they highlighted the difficulty of the Canadian track.
The final minutes were marked by retirements. Nico Varrone and Colton Herta were both unable to finish the session.
These practice results already give an early indication of a tight battle heading into qualifying, with Rodin emerging as the early favorite. Qualifying promises to be highly competitive, as a P14 for title contender Rafael Camara sees the Brazilian go towards the session.
