MARC MÁRQUEZ SET FOR MUGELLO RETURN

Marc Márquez is set to return to MotoGP action at this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix at Mugello after missing the last two rounds through injury.

Ducati confirmed that Márquez will travel to Mugello following a positive medical check. However, he still needs to pass one final mandatory trackside assessment on Thursday before being officially declared fit to race.

The Spanish rider has been recovering from two surgeries. One was linked to a foot injury suffered in a crash during the French Grand Prix Sprint at Le Mans, while the other was for a shoulder issue that had already been planned before the crash.

If he receives final clearance, Márquez will be back on his Ducati for one of the most important weekends of the season: Ducati’s home Grand Prix in Italy.

It would be a fast recovery from a difficult period, but Ducati is still waiting for the final medical green light before confirming that he can race.
