BREAKING: F3 SPRINT WIN STRIPPED FROM YAMAKOSHI AFTER TECHNICAL BREACH

A dramatic decision in Formula 3 has seen Hiyu Yamakoshi disqualified from the Sprint Race after the FIA found a technical breach involving the installation of suspension components. All drivers behind move up in the final classification.

The issue came from the front suspension system of the Van Amersfoort car. During post-race checks, FIA Technical Delegates discovered that the front push rods had been fitted on the wrong sides of the car. The left-hand push rod was installed on the right side, while the right-hand push rod was installed on the left side. The parts themselves were not modified, but they were assembled incorrectly.

The FIA explained that each part in Formula 3 has a specific designation in the official spare parts catalogue. The push rods are clearly labeled as LH (left-hand) and RH (right-hand), and they are designed to be installed on their correct sides to match the suspension geometry of the car. The Technical Delegate confirmed that the lower front wishbones were correctly installed, which made the mismatch between parts more clear.

During the investigation, the team admitted that the parts were indeed installed on the wrong sides. The FIA stewards noted that the correct installation should have been obvious to the team, especially because the parts connect directly to components that are already marked for left and right sides. They added that if there was any confusion, the team could have asked for clarification before the race but did not do so.

As a result, the standard penalty for this type of technical infringement was applied, which is disqualification from the race. Car 14 was removed from the Sprint Race results, and all other drivers were moved up in the final classification. Gerrard Xie inherits the win, and the podium is completed by Bruno del Pino and Pedro Clerot.
