FORMULA 3 HEADS TO SPIELBERG FOR MOST COMPETITIVE ROUND OF THE YEAR
Formula 3 arrives in Austria this weekend for the fourth round of the season at the Red Bull Ring. The Spielberg circuit is one of the shortest and fastest on the calendar, where the smallest mistake can make a huge difference. After an exciting weekend in Barcelona, the championship now enters a key part of the season, with every point becoming more important in the fight for the title.
The long straights and heavy braking zones usually create close racing and plenty of overtaking. Qualifying is often decided by only a few hundredths of a second, making track position and timing more important than ever.
Championship leader Ugo Ugochukwu arrives in Austria as the driver everyone wants to beat. The American has been one of the most consistent drivers on the grid, scoring points almost every race.
Barcelona could prove to be a turning point for Théophile Naël. After taking three consecutive pole positions without converting them into wins, the French driver finally turned pole into victory in Spain. The result appeared to lift a weight off his shoulders and he heads to Spielberg full of confidence, chasing a fourth straight pole position and looking to cut further into the championship lead.
There will also be a new name on the grid this weekend. Salim Hanna joins AIX Racing as a replacement for Brad Benavides. The Colombian teenager is racing in FREC with PREMA this year and recently showed strong form with podium finishes before making the step up to Formula 3.

As always at the Red Bull Ring, qualifying is expected to be incredibly close. The short lap means that a few thousandths of a second can move a driver several places up or down the order, while track limits remain a constant danger throughout the session.
The races should provide no shortage of action. The long run into Turns 3 and 4 with the heavy braking regularly create some of the best overtaking opportunities of the season, often producing aggressive battles all through the field.
