FERNÁNDEZ WINS ASSEN SPRINT AS TRACKHOUSE LOCKS OUT 1–2 FINISH

Raul Fernández delivered a stunning Tissot Sprint victory at Assen, climbing from fourth on the grid to take the win after a hard-fought battle at the front. He led a SuperFile Trackhouse MotoGP Team one-two, holding off teammate Ai Ogura in a tense final-lap finish.

The race began with Ai Ogura launching from second to take the holeshot, but Jorge Martin immediately responded to grab the lead through the opening corners. Behind them, Fernández settled into third, while the leading group also included Marco Bezzecchi and Fabio Di Giannantonio, who both gained positions early as the field quickly condensed into a tight pack.

The first major shift came on lap two when Fernández made a decisive move on Ogura at the same part of the circuit where the initial lead change had taken place. From there, the fight at the front intensified, with constant position changes between the leading riders.

By lap three, Fernández attacked Martin at the final chicane to take the lead, while Di Giannantonio also moved forward past Ogura to join the fight at the front. Martin briefly tried to respond but soon slipped further back as the pace of the new leaders increased.

As the sprint developed, Fernández and Di Giannantonio began to break away, while Ogura regrouped and started closing back in. The Japanese rider eventually produced a clean move on Di Giannantonio to take second place, setting up an all-Trackhouse fight for victory in the closing laps.

In the final stages, Ogura pushed hard to close the gap, but Fernández kept control and held on to win by just over half a second. Di Giannantonio secured third after fending off Marco Bezzecchi, who finished just off the podium after a strong recovery drive.

Further back, Martin held off Francesco Bagnaia in a close duel for fifth, while Marc Márquez, Enea Bastianini and Pedro Acosta completed the points positions after an eventful race.
